Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Lagree Fitness?

Simply put, Lagree Fitness (best known as Pilates Plus) effectively combines Strength, Endurance, Cardio, Balance, and Flexibility in not only 1 class but in EACH AND EVERY MOVE. It combines the strengthening and toning benefits of weight training and the lengthening and postural enhancing benefits of Pilates in a circuit training sequence. It keeps the heart rate up and burns extra calories making it a great cardio workout as well. The routines incorporate old school exercises such as pushups and lunges with brand new moves reserved for the Proformer. The support of the machine allows you to get an intense workout with low impact on your joints. It provides maximum results in minimal time and will be sure to leave you hopelessly addicted with its always changing routines and fun music and atmosphere.

2. I have never done Pilates or PilatesPlus. Can I do the classes or should I do private sessions first?

It depends on your current fitness level. We would recommend everyone to try our “CoreBody SPX Pilates Beginner” classes the first time. We offer them throughout the week and on weekends as well . The workout is intense but low impact, but the routine is kept simple to make sure everyone is using good form. Each move can be modified to make it either harder or easier for the client, making it simple for individuals of all levels to participate in the same class. However, if you have chronic back pain, painful joints or a severe medical condition, it is recommended that you take a private session first to assess your fitness level. Please email us first so that we can recommend an instructor specifically for you to help you to assess if a private session/s is needed.

3. Why are classes 45 minutes long?

Wouldn’t you want your time to be utilized the most efficient way possible. Just like Sebastien Lagree Says ”You Don’t need more Time, You need more Intensity." In 45 minutes we offer you far better workout than traditional hour long workouts because we focus on High Intensity along with Slow controlled movements and effective breathing. Our results are stellar if you commit to these 40 minute workouts for just a month! We purposely keep the routines to 40 minutes so that we can pack a great punch in that time and you will be in and out under an hour !What most workouts cannot deliver in more than 1 hour, we can give you in 40 minutes. All we can say is try out our first class to see for yourself!

4. Do I need to arrive early to my first class?

Yes, please arrive at least 10 minutes before class to ask any additional questions and fill out the necessary paperwork. If you show up 10 minutes after class has begun you may lose that class as the class may be awarded to another person who is present and waiting. It is imperative that we give you an introduction to the Proformer so please arrive early. Once class starts we do not stop so you must arrive early to receive this instruction so that class can run as smoothly as possible. We also encourage arriving early so that you can brief the instructor about any injuries or special considerations you have.

5. What should I bring to class?

  • Bring a positive attitude. Leave all your worries behind. The class is for you. You need to be present-minded when working out to maximize the physical and mental benefits of the class.

  • We have water at the studio, but it is great if you bring a bottle of your own.
  • Wear comfortable clothes that allow your muscles to stretch and your skin to “breathe”, but nothing too loose that could get caught in the springs.
  • Jewelry is NOT a good idea. Avoid dangling necklaces.

8. How often should I come to Corebody Pilates Plus?

The workout is designed to work your body to muscle fatigue after which your body requires a rest. If your muscles are too sore/tired to do so, then give your body a rest, it will thank you!

11. May I bring my children to class if they sit quietly while I work out?

Honestly, we would love to meet your adorable little ones, but due to safety and insurance concerns we cannot allow children to stay in the studio while class is in session. It is not safe to have little hands near the machines or to have other clients distracted while they are in poses that require concentration and balance. Same goes for all of your furry friends.

12. Is there a shower?

No, there is no shower available.

13. How does the waitlist work?

If a class is full, you may still sign up for the class. You click register/sign in and it will automatically enter you onto the wait list. If someone cancels BEFORE the 12 hour cancellation time, then the system will email you (only if you opted in for our automated emails when you created your profile) telling you that you are now in the class. This means that if you made another back up reservation that you must cancel it ASAP so that you do not lose that class. Once you are emailed from the system you are in, so if you cannot make that class you must go into your schedule and cancel that. Please be sure to check your email if you register for the wait list, that is the only way the system can contact you. If you did not opt in for our automated emails (you should!) then you should check your profile if you wait listed so that you can see if you are in the class. If it is listed under your schedule you are in, even if it says “unconfirmed." Some people will put themselves on the waitlist in multiple classes in one day. It is up to you to cancel once you get into one. To cancel any classes you are on the waitlist for log into your profile, go to ‘my info,' ‘my schedule’ and click on the word ‘waitlist’ in the top right hand corner. Your waitlisted schedule will appear and you can cancel classes you were waitlisted for.
